The Department for Transport has acknowledged the Freight Transport Association’s submission on Driver CPC, recognising that industry – not politicians – is best placed to identify driver training needs.
The DfT has urged the EU to retain a flexible approach, to help ensure drivers can receive effective and relevant training, stating that if regulation was thought to be a way of improving professionalism in the industry, more compulsion in the Driver CPC framework was not the answer.
